On February 24, 2023, Erwin Hymer Group Nowa Sól produced its first campervan. The entire process was overseen by a team of EHG Nowa Sól employees, effectively trained by colleagues from Isna and Neustadt.

“I can compare the production of the Carado 640 to the birth of the first child. It’s a special moment, touching and, for me, very emotional. Thanks to the “family” – team EHG, the “journey” associated with this experience turned out to be less winding and bumpy, and the signposts obtained from our friends in Germany gave a lot of peace of mind in the form of knowledge and experience.” – says Sönke Jensen Managing Director EHG

Employees recall the construction of their first RV with fondness, emphasizing how important this time was for them. They gained knowledge and experience in Isny and Neustadt. Thanks to an excellent introduction to the production process, they gained the necessary skills and confidence.

“The process of building the camper started with me on bars 1-4, preparing, checking and cutting all the holes. Subsequently, the car went on bars 5-9: we installed the floor, the headliner, and tried to make the best use of our knowledge gained during training. With more or less mistakes we managed to build up this car – we also installed seats, water tanks, step, blends, furniture (…)”. – recalls Krzysztof Grabowiecki Team Leader Assembly

The processes involved in building the Carado 640 are not just about production and its improvement. It is, above all, the creation of a team – people who recall that time with great enthusiasm.

“During the construction of the first campervan we had a lot of positive emotions, we were waiting for the moment when the car would leave us. From the first day of employment we waited for the start of production. A great support for us was the presence of employees from the EHG group, who strongly supported us in the production processes. I remember with fondness the team-building time, the daily meetings, and even the mistakes. Mistakes that we eliminated together – as a team. Certainly our cooperation and desire to build something absolutely new brought a lot to our team. An extremely important event was when kamperwan left the line and sold to the customer.” – enthusiastically tells Wojciech Janik Team Leader Assembly

Andrzej Antkowiak – Team Leader Assembly – talks about the final touches, corrections and adjustments on the final bars and the final product: “Bars 22-23 were polishing of the car, gas tests, possible corrections after work on earlier bars, washing, cleaning. It came out beautifully – our only one. The campervan on my bars spent about three days.”

On February 24, 2023, workers celebrated the success. They felt that the first campervan and the processes involved in its creation were exciting, required 100% commitment, but at the same time gave great satisfaction: here in this place we are making history, setting the course for future processes, being forerunners in Poland.

Quality Manager Ireneusz Lechniak elaborates, “Our first campervan showed the dedication and commitment of the team, we started and ended each day with a meeting with our CEO – talking about what we managed to do and what remains to be improved. A great support was the presence of people from Capron – they trained us in building the first two campervans. You could say that we witnessed the creation of the company: the modernization of the factory, the construction of production lines, the teams – it was and is an exciting journey.”

The years 2022-2023 were significant for EHG. It’s a time of take-off – a beautiful yet difficult period of flourishing. Every beginning brings hope, brings visions for building something special. EHG, based in New Sol, is first and foremost a team. The first employee hired was Paulina Zator, occupying the position of Head of Commercial Excellence.

“The first campervan, the first machines, the first successes and the first child of EHG, the Carado 640 and, most importantly, an exceptional team of employees, which from the beginning we have tried to build on a culture of kindness and respect. I hope that our organization – is a place that is not only a pioneer in terms of product, but also in terms of management. We strive to make every day at work characterized by positive emotions, so that our teamwork brings benefits, not only financial. It’s the people that count.” – elaborates Paulina Zator
